COSMELAN DEPIGMENTATION TREATMENT PROGRAM

Cosmelan® Depigmentation Treatment

Cosmelan® is a professional medical-aesthetic depigmentation program designed to treat moderate to severe hyperpigmentation, including melasma, sun damage, post-inflammatory pigmentation and uneven skin tone.

It is not a single session or a quick fix, but a structured and progressive program that combines an in-clinic professional treatment with a personalised homecare and long-term maintenance plan to achieve stable and long-lasting results.

Who is Cosmelan suitable for?

Cosmelan is suitable for:

  • Melasma
  • Sunspots and age spots
  • Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation
  • Uneven skin tone
  • Persistent or recurrent pigmentation

It is suitable for all skin types and tones, following a professional consultation and personalised assessment.

How does Cosmelan work?

Cosmelan works by:

  • Reducing existing pigmentation
  • Regulating melanin production at its source
  • Preventing new pigmentation from forming

By targeting both visible pigmentation and its underlying cause, Cosmelan offers a more stable and controlled approach compared to aggressive or short-term treatments.

The Cosmelan Program – Step by Step

1. Professional Consultation

Your practitioner will assess your skin condition, medical history, lifestyle and pigmentation type to confirm suitability and design a personalised treatment protocol.

2. In-Clinic Treatment

A professional Cosmelan mask is applied in the clinic.
The mask is worn for a specific number of hours at home, according to your individual protocol, and then removed following clear instructions.

3. Initial Recovery Phase

In the days and weeks following the treatment, it is normal to experience:

  • Redness
  • Tightness
  • Sensitivity
  • Peeling or flaking

These reactions are expected and form part of the skin renewal and regeneration process.

4. Homecare & Maintenance Phase

After the in-clinic treatment, you will follow a structured at-home skincare routine using prescribed Mesoestetic products.

This phase is essential and continues for several months, with adjustments made according to your skin’s response and progress.

5. Follow-Up & Monitoring

Regular follow-ups allow us to:

  • Monitor your progress
  • Adjust products or frequency when needed
  • Support your skin throughout each phase of the program

When will I see results?

Cosmelan is a progressive and controlled treatment, not an aggressive or instant solution.
It works gradually, respecting the skin’s natural renewal cycle and allowing pigmentation to improve in a safe and stable way.

Most patients begin to notice visible improvement within the first 2–4 weeks, particularly in brightness and overall skin tone. However, pigmentation continues to fade progressively over several months, as melanin activity becomes more regulated and stable.

It is important to understand that Cosmelan is not a miracle treatment with immediate results.
It is a long-term program that requires:

  • Time
  • Consistency
  • Commitment to homecare and daily sun protection

The full Cosmelan program typically lasts several months, combining the professional treatment phase with an extended maintenance phase. Patients who fully commit to the protocol achieve the most consistent and long-lasting results.

How long do the results last?

With correct aftercare and daily sun protection, Cosmelan results can be long-lasting, often maintained for many months to several years.

Pigmentation can return if maintenance is not followed, which is why long-term care is an essential part of the program.

Why is long-term aftercare essential?

Pigmentation is influenced by multiple factors, including:

  • Sun exposure
  • Hormonal changes
  • Inflammation
  • Genetics

For this reason, ongoing maintenance for up to 12 months is strongly recommended to:

  • Keep melanin activity under control
  • Stabilise results
  • Reduce the risk of pigmentation returning

Sun Protection (SPF) – Non-Negotiable

Daily use of a high-protection SPF is essential:

  • Every day
  • All year round
  • Even on cloudy days

SPF should become a permanent part of your skincare routine to protect your skin and preserve your results.
